6-Days coast Camel trekking

Exploring the Atlantic drifts, on 6 Days ocean hiking all the way long, until getting to the shores of Essaouira, with camel trekking on Morocco’s Atlantic coast in the rhythm of the tides and winds.

Morocco’s Atlantic coast offers beautiful, undescribable, natural shores for an authentic camel trek between the foothills of the Moroccan Atlantic, surrounded with argan trees, and the Atlantic coastal white dunes, with camels carrying the luggage and their coastal guides.

The ocean trek itinirary carry within it a landscapes that vary from day to day: fine sandy beaches, discreet coves, traditional small fishing villages, limestone hills planted with argan trees overlooking the ocean follow one another on this coastal hike along the shores of Essaouira where sand Dunes plunged into the sea like if it is a desert!

Itinerary

Day 1Marrakesh

By the time you arrive into Marrakech, we will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in the city center, 20 minutes from the medina. This first day will gently immerse you in the atmosphere of the red city. Dinner and overnight stay

Day 2The Atlantic coast

Today we start our journey to the Atlantic Ocean. More accurately to where our trek start . The Departure for the Atlantic coast. The road leads us through numerous argan forests to the village of Timzguida Ouftass. Later after lunch we will walk for 2-hour walk in the argan forest, where you can see goats grazing on the treetops and make your first encounter with this mountain deserted argan region by the atlantic.
Today the itinirary is mixture of drive to the starting location of our walking trek and also the beginning of the walk .

Day 3The bay of Tafedna

Today we start our walk early morning after breakfast in a land covered with argan trees, there will be soil hills with some rocks to make our crossing though , also on the surrounding we pass through a succession of douars belonging to the Berber Haha tribe , douar are there small village consisted of families that lives and roam in the erea for long time, their lifestyle relly on crops (wheat, barley, argan) and goat rearing. The Lunch will take in the shade of the trees before reaching our gite in Tafedna, an ancient Portuguese anchorage located at the end of a cove covered by cliffs planted with argan trees.
For around four km, this bay of Tafedna offers a breathtaking sandy beach with typical fishermen’s cottages and numerous blue boats. The area is famous for deep-sea seasonal fishing . The dinner and the overnight stay will be Lodging with the local people. Meals included: morning, noon, evening) . The duration of the walk today will be around 4 to 5 hours walk.

Day 4cliffs and desert beaches

We start our beautiful day’s hike in a beautiful landscapes that been the land of local tribes , we make our way between cliffs overlooking the ocean and almost deserted part of the beaches until we end up to Sidi Ahmed Assayh, which is one of the most beautiful wild beaches on the Atlantic coast. Here and at this part of the trek Swimming is possible, but caution always important as you have to take care and pay attention if you decide to swim, as the ocean is often rough. Overnight in a gite

( the walk for today will be from 4 to 5 h walk with picnic, Dinner, and overnight stay in local gite)

Day 5Sandy dunes of Sidi Mbarrek

Departure will be from the village of Iften, where fishermen repair their nets in the shelter of a rocky headland, amidst traps, pots and longlines. We keep following the ocean from ledge to ledge, making our way with the caravan of camels to our destination which is the marabout of Sidi Mbarrek, witnessing freshwater cascades. Today is a day of wild beaches, there will be cliffs overlooking the ocean and freshwater cascades bordered by an immense sand dune, just as if the desert were plunging into the sea.
For centuries, Sidi Mbarrek was a stopover for caravans carrying goods bought in Africa to the port of Essaouira. It is a place where the caravans rest Before returning to the city, the caravans of camels that carry the goods would stay in quarantine around the waterfall, where fresh water, greenery, vegetable crops and the sea provided them with the necessary sustenance to continue their journeys.

( Today the walk will be 4 hours walk with a picnic in between, Dinner and overnight stay in a local stay)

Day 6 Sidi Kaouki coast and Essaouira beaches

Today is our last day of walking, it is epic step to civilisations, as we commence a beautiful walk awaits you along a wild beaches. There will be fine sand dunes to be crossed in order to get to the village of Sidi Kaouki and its white marabout facing the ocean. We will spend a picnic lunch with the team overthere before heading to Essaouira traditional city, the beautiful Mogador. Check-in at your riad.
By the end of the day we arrive to essaouira city , the rest of the day is free to discover the city of the trade winds and its traditional port. Essaouira is small city with a beautiful shaped traditional port and old medina. You can also Stroll through the white and blue alleyways, where small shady squares await you for a breat of tasty mint tea. In the medina, you have many things to see like the small indoor markets on both sides of Rue Mohammed Zerktouni and also the saqalla placss where they used to protect the city from, it has old weapons. Lunch at leisure

The evening we either return to Marrakech or spend the overnight at essaouria depend on your travel plans and time.
