12 Day Sahara Desert Tour from Casablanca Itinerary

Day 1Casablanca - Guided tour of Casablanca - Fez

Our driver will meet you at Casablanca airport or from your Hotel and drive you to Fez. If arrive in the morning, you’ll visit the highlights of Casablanca, including the Hassan II Mosque.
We’ll then head for the Corniche, bordered by an uninterrupted sweep of beaches, cafés, hotels, swimming pools, and restaurants, then we’ll head straight to Fez. directly to Fès.
During the night in Fès, you’ll have time to see the famous Bab Boujloud gate, enjoy the ancient enjoy the ancient architecture of Fès, and take a stroll. We’ll spend overnight in a riad in the Medina

Day 2Fes - Azrou - Merzouga - Erg Chebbi

At 8:00 a.m. we’ll set off for the dunes of Erg Chebbi, stopping in Ifrane, the Swiss Moroccan-style town, and through the cedar forest, where you’ll have time to see the Babery monkeys climbing the trees.
Around midday, we arrive in Midelt, the apple capital, where we’ll eat in a local restaurant. We then continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains and the Ziz Valley with its fantastic gorges, known for its palm groves and agriculture, we arrive at Erfoud with its countless “mud ksars”.

In the afternoon, we arrive in the Merzouga desert, an hour’s ride on camels through the dunes of Erg Chebbi, a good place to watch the sunset.

Day 3Explore Merzouga Sahara Desert

  After breakfast in the riad you’ll start your explorative trip of the area, starting by visiting the ‘village of the blacks’, originally slaves from Sudan, Mali and Senegal to experience their music and lifestyle. Later, we will drive in the desert area to meet nomad families-living under Berber tents- to explore their way of life. Today our lunch will be a traditional Berber meal (Berber pizza) with a local family. You will have the option also to visit the old city of Rissani – the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty – the current ruling royal family in Morocco. Rissani is surrounded by about 360 ksar(a fortified village with many towers) and has a big souk (an open market), held three times a week. Once called Sijilmassa, this was the meeting place for the salt caravans, coming from Tombouctou in Mali. Here you’ll walk through the souk, selling spices, vegetables and cloths. After that, we drive back to the village of Merzouga. In the afternoon, you will ride your camel guided by an experienced camel-man to explore what is hidden in the middle of the highest sand dunes in Morocco. The camel trek takes about 1hr30 min to the camp where you will enjoy the sunset and make a deep vision on the sky by its stars and shining moon. Dinner will be served in front of the tent where you will spend the night. After dinner you will have chance to song Berber music with drums played by locals.

Day 4Merzouga - Dades Gorges

We’ll get up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, have breakfast at the camp, return by camel to Merzouga, travel into the Dades Valley via Rissani, where we’ll have time to explore its great traditional markets, and then on to the into the Todra Valley, passing through numerous Berber towns and villages before the Todra Gorge, one of the most impressive places in Morocco.
The Todra Gorge is also a great place for hiking, and where the nomads who come down from the mountains to collect water from the river, time to walk and explore the area, we’ll have lunch on site, then head off to the Dades Valley and its Gorges With a stop at both sites, we’ll also stop to visit the Valley of the Monkey Fingers, where we’ll spend the night in a hotel near the gorge

Day 5Dades - Skoura

Breakfast at the hotel, followed by a panoramic tour of the Dades Valley. the Dades Valley, then we’ll head for the Rose Valley with its Kasbah and Ksars, where you’ll see some very pleasant landscapes before reaching the Skoura oasis with its beautiful 17th-century adobe kasbahs.
We visit its huge oasis with millions of palm trees and continue on to Ouarzazate for lunch, then on to Ait Ben Haddou, a world heritage site where somewhere some twenty international films have been shot. Overnight in Guest House

Day 6 Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

After breakfast at your hotel, we continue the way through Tizi Ntichka within the Atlas mountains, about 100 km of zigzags in length then we’ll enter Marrakesh city, which means(the red city) Marrakech, the former imperial city in western Morocco, is a major economic center and home to mosques, palaces, and gardens.

Day 7 MARRAKECH - GUIDED CITY TOUR

After breakfast the tour guide will meet you at the Riad/hotel escort you around this beautiful city, visiting historical monuments. the gorgeous Bahia palace built in 19th century, the 17th century Saadian tombs, the Koranic School of Ben Youssef, and the Koutoubia Mosque built in 12th century. Day 8Airballon

Join this unique hot air ballooning experience in Marrakech and offer yourself an exceptional adventure full of emotions. Early morning at 5am pick up from your riad, Get on board of a giant air balloon and enjoy the panoramic landscapes of Berber villages and Atlas Mountains that unfold under your eyes.

After an early morning hotel transfer by 4×4, you will be welcomed in a luxurious Berber tent to have a hearty and tasty breakfast.

You will then join your pilot for a hot air balloon ride above the clouds for 40 to 60 minutes. Around 10 am drop-off at your Riad

Day 9 Marrakech - Essaouira

Essaouira is the darling of many tourists! The town has a favorable microclimate; mild in winter and
cool in summer. This day trip to Essaouira departs from Marrakech at 8:30 and you’ll travel by freeway.
This fascinating day is an opportunity to enjoy the pleasant weather, discover the famous seaport
and medieval ramparts. The winding streets and picturesque medina of this charming little town. A delicious and special lunch is served at the port, where you can choose where you can choose fresh fish.

Day 10 Essaouira - Taroudant

Kick-off your Essaouira to Merzouga desert tour with the departure at 8.30 from your riad in an
private car. We head south toward Agadir, passing the Atlantic Ocean to the right and
the Anti-Atlas to the left. At panoramic viewpoints, there will, of course, be plenty of stops to take
pictures; just let the driver know when you wish to do so.
After about two and a half hours, you arrive in Agadir, a large port and beach resort, where you
turn inland. You will now witness very different landscapes as you continue towards Taroudant, travelling along the Souss River Valley with all its fruit plantations and innumerable
argan trees on the slopes beside the road.
Upon your arrival in Taroudant, known as the “The Little Marrakech”, you will be able to tour its
beautiful walled medina, where the ramparts are even more impressive in their entirety than those
of Essaouira. At night, an authentic riad offers a delicious dinner and night rest.

Day 11Tardoudant - Marrakech

 In the Morning you will have a Half day in Taroudant to explore and visit tanneries, souks, ramparts of Taroudant, lunch in Taroudant, then Taking the road back to Marrakech, Arriving Marrakech drop you off at your accommodation.

Day 12Marrakech - Casablanca

On the last day meet your driver at your hotel or riad for an early pick up ( 07h00 AM ) to Casablanca.
Enjoy a comfortable 3 hours drive via the motorway crossing the fertile Gharb plains. A stop will be made halfway in a rest area before you continue to Casablanca.
