Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech - Ouarzazate - Mhamid

After breakfast at your hotel in Marrakech, drive to Ouarzazate via the Tizi N’Tichka to 2260m. During the travel, we will enjoy the panoramic view of the High Atlas Mountains and we continue the Col Ait Saoune to arrive in the famous Draa Valley, before joining the small town of Mhamid; Here where we the camp install in the dunes of Ras N’khal. Road 7 hours and 1-hour walk for the first day.

Day 2Mhamid - Sidi Naji

We will head south and cross the Oued Draa and the palm grove of Ras Nkhal to reach a desert plateau. Later we admire the panorama before arriving in Sidi Naji, an old village in ruins, where we will take a picnic prepared by our cook. Another hour’s walk in the afternoon to reach the beautiful dunes with the same name. Overnight in tents 5 hours of walking. Easy level camel trekking in Morocco Sahara desert.

Day 3Sidi Naji - Erg Zzahar Dunes

We will leave the bivouac of Sidi Naji direction of the largest dunes of the Draa Valley. Magnificent landscapes! At the end of the afternoon, we will climb the dune of Zahar for an unforgettable sunset. 5 hours of walking. Easy level.

Day 4ErgZzahar Dunes - Lhdaibat

After breakfast, we will head northeast for a route marked by very desert landscapes with many Tamaris trees. Overnight in tents in the large Ait Ou-Nir dunes. The 5 hours walk. Is it an Easy level camel trek in the Morocco Sahara desert?

Day 5Lhdaibat - Ras Nkhal

Once finish breakfast, we will head east across the dunes of Erg Ait Ounir and the trees of Tamaris. Sumptuous dessert landscapes await us during this stage. We will stop for lunch just before arriving at the pass, under the beautiful palm trees of Ras N’khal. 5 hours walk. Easy level.

Day 6Ras Nkhal - Mhamid - Ait Ben Haddou

After breakfast our drive will be to Tamegroute, which is a religious center since the 11th century It has a history as an important center of learning and religion through its famous Sufi zawiya, historical center of the Nasiriyya Sufi order, one of the most influential – and at one time one of the largest – Sufi orders in the Islamic world. Tamegroute’s green pottery is also very well-known. The founders of the religious brotherhood Nasiriyya wanted to raise the status of the village of Tamegroute to that of a “Medina”, that is to say to make it a city. They assembled the merchants and craftsmen that they had brought from Fes, a city that enjoyed good relations with Tamegroute at the time. Today Tamegroute is a little village, but the pottery has become its main characteristic and the ancient techniques give the glaze infinite variations. We drive back along the valley of the Draa River, we go back centuries by visiting Tamnougalt Kasbah, it is situated on Draa River valley, some 95 km south of Ouarzazate. In berber Tamnougalt means ‘meeting point’ was possibly a garrison in the Saadian dynasty. The Glaoua where to play a big role in the Draa region.In the twenties of the 20th century relations between the Glaoua and the Mezguita became more and more strained because of the struggle for the power over the Draa. For this purpose, T’hami El Glaoui held a war to Tamnougalt in 1919. We keep driving to Ait Ben Haddou via Ouarzazate.

Day 7Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

In this last Day of our 7 Days Morocco Camel Trekking, after breakfast you will have a walk visite the castel Aitben Haddou with Local berber guide, then take our vehicle to return to Marrakech via the atlas mountains and Kasbah Talouat. have lunch in the way,  4 hours of driving, to get to Marrakech by droop-off at your Hotel/ Raid  or at The airport.
